HOW TO CONTACT A JUSTICE OF THE PEACE

When accessing JP services please be aware that:

●  A JP is under no obligation to provide assistance if unreasonable requests are placed upon them

●  Where possible contact the JP by telephone and make a mutually agreeable time to meet

●  Some JPs may be able to attend your residence or business if the need arises but arrangements will have to be mutually agreed to

●  JPs will disqualify themselves from acting if they are faced by a conflict of interest situation eg: show favour to friends, relations and associates

Locating a JP

To locate a JP you can go to the link below ('find a JP') and select from the public role of Justices of the Peace. Type the name of your suburb in the box provided and you will find a list of names and phone numbers of JPs in your area. Note that only the name, suburb and contact telephone number of JPs are given to members of the public. To protect the privacy of Justices of the Peace we do not give out other details.

Alternatively, JPs are now rostered to the Kadina Library every Wednesday afternoon from 1pm to 2.30pm and at the Moonta Library Tuesdays 3.00-3.30pm so people can visit during this time to have things certified by a JP. Please note that many JPs work and may not be available during business hours on their home telephone number and some may not be easily accessed during work.
