Parking and Enforcement

Parking and Enforcement

Parking rules exist to improve traffic flow and to ensure the safe and fair use of the roads within the Copper Coast Council region for the benefit of everyone.

How Expiation Notices are enforced is regulated by State law and is the same for all Councils within South Australia.

Under the Expiation of Offences Act, if a motor vehicle is found to be in breach of a road rule, an Expiation Notice (parking ticket) can be issued by the following means:

  • personally handing it to you
  • securing it on the windscreen wiper blade of the motor vehicle
  • or sending the Expiation Notice in the mail
Parking expiation fees are not set by Council. Expiation fee increases are gazetted after the State Budget is announced and take effect from 1 July annually.

To report a parking problem - contact Copper Coast Council on (08) 8828 1200 during office hours.
