Public Interest Disclosure
PUBLIC INTEREST DISCLOSURE
The South Australian Government introduced on the 1st July 2019, the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2018 (PID Act). This Act replaced the Whistleblowers Protection Act 1992.
Council is committed to transparency and accountability in our administrative and management practices and value the environment, health and safety of the community.
Under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2018, an Informant may make a disclosure of:
- Public Administration Information that raises a potential issue of corruption, misconduct or maladministration in public administration.
- Environmental and Health Information that raises a potential issue of substantial risk to the environment or the health or safety of the public, or significant section of the public.
Council's Public Interest Disclosure Policy and Public Interest Disclosure Procedure link sets out how Council will deal with a disclosure, and the protection granted to the Informant.
