The Copper Coast Council owns 15 retirement units at Y-Hafen Wallaroo, and 12 units at Lowender Court Moonta.

These 2 and 3 bedroom units are all conveniently located to services and the attractions that make the Copper Coast an ideal place to retire.

Y-Hafen Wallaroo

Wallaroo Retirement Units

The Y-Hafen units are located in Errington, Harrington and Abdureman Streets, Wallaroo behind the Wallaroo Hospital.
There are both 2 and 3 bedrooms and each unit has a separate kitchen, lounge area, laundry and bathroom. There is minimal gardening required as most units have compact rear yards with pergola for entertaining.

Lowender Court Moonta

The Lowender Court units are located in Crutchett and Majors Road Moonta, next to the Moonta Hospital.
As with the Wallaroo units, they are 2 and 3 bedroom units, with compact backyards and all have synthetic front lawns.

Council's Retirement Units are governed by the Retirement Villages Act. Residents purchase a "Licence to Occupy" which varies in price according to the age and size of the unit. That licence has a significant value which is available to all residents or their estates, depending on their circumstances when they leave the units.

Does Council have any retirement units?

Yes - Lowender Court at Moonta and Y'Hafen Retirement Units at Wallaroo. Residents purchase a "Licence to Occupy" and also pay weekly maintenance fees.

How do I register for the units?

A "Registration of Interest" form is available. Prospective residents can complete the no charge, no obligation registration to be entered onto the waiting list.
