Due Dates and Payment Options
DUE DATE SCHEDULE
Rates are payable quarterly in each financial year as follows:
Council Rate Payment Schedule | |
Quarter | Last day for payment: |
1st Quarter | 1st September |
2nd Quarter | 1st December |
3rd Quarter | 1st March |
4th Quarter | 1st June |
All rateable properties will receive a rate notice, 4-6 weeks prior which will show the instalment amounts and the due dates.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
You can choose to pay your rates in:
Quarterly instalments: Must be paid quarterly to prevent late fines and interest charges.
An Annual Payment: If you make an annual payment in the first quarter you will not receive any further notices throughout the financial year. Council will still send you the Copper Post (Newsletter) each quarter.
Regular Periodical Payment: Ratepayers are welcome to make payments that align with their income cycle e.g. Weekly, fortnightly, monthly.
Due Date: To avoid fines and interest being imposed for late payment, payment must reach Council by the due date. Where the due date falls on a weekend, additional day’s grace will be given. Council does not accept responsibility for payments made to a third party (eg Bpay), that do not reach the Council Office by the due date.
If you are having difficulty paying your Council rates by the due date, please contact the Rates Team (08) 8828 1200 (option 4) for assistance.
