Covid-19 Virus Updates

COUNCIL’S LOCKDOWN RESPONSE - 20 JULY 2021

Due to the State Government's Level 5 Stay at Home Restrictions to be enforced at 6pm today (20 July 2021), Copper Coast Council is required to only continue essential necessary services over the next 7-day lockdown period (pending further Directions issued).

The following services will cease for the next 7 days:

  • Council Offices (closed to public, but Council’s Customer Service is still available by phone and email)
  • Copper Coast Sport and Leisure Centre
  • All Libraries
  • Copper Coast Visitor Information Centre
  • Copper Coast University Centre
  • Copper Coast Putt Putt, The Farm Shed Museum and Play CafĂ©
  • Copper Coast Resource Recovery Centre
  • Community Halls
  • Roadworks, parks and gardens and general maintenance (unless there are safety issues to the public)

The following services will continue over the next 7 days as they are considered essential services:

  • Waste collection services
  • Community wastewater management scheme maintenance
  • Planning and Building Approvals
  • Public toilets

Playgrounds will not be cordoned off. However, no travel or outdoor exercise is allowed for this under the Stay at Home Direction.

Some members of our staff will be working from home, but will still be trying their best to provide services to our community. We would ask you please to be patient.

As a community and a State, we are all in this together! So please abide by the Directives and stay safe as we all try to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Stop the spread – hygiene and social distancing

The most effective thing you can do to minimise the risk of spread of the virus is to practice good hygiene.

  • Cover your coughs/sneezes with a tissue or if not, your elbow
  • Dispose of used tissues immediately
  • Wash your hand with soap and water before handling food, eating and after going to the toilet. Avoid touching your face.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Ensure that all members of the community keep a healthy distance of 1.5m from everyone around you and stay away from others if you are unwell.
