GEORGE STREET CROSSING
Works to create a wombat crossing on George Street, Moonta (in front of Drakes) will commence early next month (May 2021).
The existing kerb and pedestrian refuge will be removed and replaced with new kerbing, to create garden bed protuberances, before new pram ramps and a raised asphalt crossing will complete the project.
There will be some inconveniences for pedestrians and motorists throughout the works, however, every effort will be taken to limit them.
The works are part of the Moonta Master Plan—improving the pedestrian crossing on George Street and providing a safer environment for pedestrians and motorists.
The project is scheduled to be completed late May/early June (weather permitting).
