January 2nd to 24th
"Drift Art"

Alan Borg is a resident of the Yorke Peninsula and has always harboured a deep love of the ocean. Driftwood art allows him to express what the sea has to offer. He feels every piece of driftwood tells a story and through recycling the flotsam treasures the ocean creatures can be seen and appreciated in a different and unique way.

January 29th to February 22nd
"Collage to 3 Visions"

Claudia Bollmeyer, Julie Cheshire and Elizabeth James are three established artists in their first joint exhibition, exploring the field of Collage and it's interpretations across Abstract, Figurative and Traditional styles. The medium of Collage rose to international attention with Modern artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Kitaj, Hosh and Beardon amongst the early leaders in the field. From vibrant colours and celebration to more quiet and contemplative subjects, Collage inspired this rich and diverse presentation.

 

February 26th to March 29th
"Bric-a-Brac Sale"

April 4th to May 3rd
"Inspired by Nature"

Vicki Smith is a textile artist who uses fabric and threads to create pieces that reflect the colours and textures of nature. Whether it is a broad landscape or a single leaf, she invites people to change their focus from the vast to the minute by drawing them into the intricacy an detail of her work. 

 

May 7th to June 7th
"Northern Yorke Peninsula Quilters"

Long established local group since 1986, this very generous group of women share not only their skills with one another but also their time. They are well known for making display quilts for local public buildings, quilts for organisations to raffle and quilts for local charities to distribute as needed. They also make substantial donations from their exhibitions to many local and other worthy causes.

 
June 14th to July 24th
"Country Arts SA - Craft Anonymous"

Craft Anonymous brought together regional and metropolitan textile, glass, metal and ceramic artists to exhibit in the iconic Adelaide Town Hall in 2015. In 2017 this exhibition continues it's tour of regional South Australia. Traditional handicraft techniques such as weaving, embroidery, knitting, felting, enamelling and hand-dying are showcased within a contemporary art context where old meets new.

 

July 30th to August 23rd
"SALA 2018" South Australian Living Artists Festival

The SALA Festival is an annual event that celebrates practicing artists working across mediums, from professional through amateur. August 27th to September 20th
"Just By Chance"

Janette Ireland and Judy Parham are local artists. Process and Chance become the essence of creativity, using a selection of materials and media to capture an original and independent work statement. A sense of tradition and emotion enables the mind to connect with the spirit of family and place.

 

September 24th to October 18th
"Art For All"

This year the Northern Yorke Peninsula Art Group is 30 years old and is celebrating with this exhibition and with a goal of encouraging interest and understanding of art within the community on the Yorke Peninsula. Their mission is to provide local artists with the opportunity to develop and display their skills in a friendly, caring and sharing environment.

 

October 22nd to November 8th
"Kadina Memorial School Art Showcase" 

A display of work completed in 2017 by the School's senior art students, Years 7 to 12.
