Gas Cylinders
Gas cylinders can be refilled many times before coming to the end of their life.
Refilling LPG BBQ gas bottles can be refilled through Swap ‘n’ Go and Kwik Gas Cylinder Exchange Service at most service stations.
When they expire, as gas cylinders are under pressure, they cannot be disposed of in the kerbside collection bins, as it causes extreme risks when compacted.
The Resource Recovery Centre, under the EPA licenced, is not allowed to receive gas cylinders, therefore must be disposed of elsewhere:
- BOC / CIG, Matheson, Linde, GasTech, Air Liquide, LAA or Liquid Air cylinders should be returned to the manufacturer so that no further rental will be charged to the customer.
- Diving tanks should be returned to the manufacturer, most likely via dive centres or re-fillers.
