WALLAROO IN MULTI-PART STORY ILLUMINATING RURAL SA

The Wallaroo Silo Light Show will be one of five sites across Regional South Australia illuminating a unique multi-part storytelling experience every night from 6.30pm throughout the month of August.

In this illuminart project called Constellation Stories in Light Trail, Wallaroo’s story will focus on the discovery of
copper in our region.

“It’s no surprise copper is an integral part of our region—hence the name Copper Coast and references to our
three largest urban towns as forming the Copper Triangle,” Copper Coast Mayor Roslyn Talbot said.

“We continue to celebrate our copper mining heritage, the history left behind and what it has done for our South
Australian economy.

“I, for one, am excited to see the artistry, animations and innovations that illuminart have put together to tell our
story to locals and visitors.”

Copper Coast residents and guests have also been given the opportunity to showcase their talents in a show that
will play immediately following the illuminart project, called “Copper Coast Earthly Delights”.

“Our Wallaroo Silo Light Show plays with community contributions every night, with a newly-themed show
starting every three months,” Mayor Talbot said.

“We wanted this month to be no different and our Copper Coast Earthly Delights theme will play throughout
August, September and October; showcasing Copper Coast’s landscapes, agriculture, beaches, skies and more,
which will complement illuminart’s show.”

Following the success of the Travelling Light Show that wowed audiences throughout regional SA in 2019,
illuminart director Cindi Drennan said the team is thrilled to bring another exciting initiative to regional South
Australia.

“These shows have been supported by Arts SA and National Science Week, and we’ve merged these two worlds
while telling a tale about each of the 5 regions—Quorn, Wallaroo, Port Pirie, Barmera and Karoonda.

“With five all-weather projection sites under the stars and a variety of activities across the regions, this is a perfect
opportunity for your family, school or group to travel, enjoy and learn about each region through inspiring sciencerelated events that connect with the projected stories.

“Grab some local tucker, bring your picnic chair or blanket to enjoy the sunset and watch some infrastructure
light up across each of the regions with their own unique story.”
