GEORGE STREET CROSSING
Part of George Street (from Blanche Street to Ellen Terrace) will be closed from approximately 7am next Thursday, 3 June to 5pm Friday, 4 June 2021.
Contractors will be working on the new rain gardens for the George Street pedestrian crossing, which will use stormwater for the plants.
Once completed, the road will be reopened.
The road will be closed again from approximately 7am to 12pm on Sunday, 6 June 2021 for line-marking.
Following these works, the George Street pedestrian crossing project will be finished and the road will be reopened (weather permitting all works).
Pedestrians will still be able to use the existing footpaths and access shops, but please be mindful of the current road changes and safety barriers in place.
Letters will be hand-delivered to all George Street shop owners tomorrow (28 May 2021).
