DECEMBER PROJECT OPENINGS
Copper Coast Council is pleased to announce the following three projects will be officially opening in the month of December.
- Kadina Dog Park opening ceremony (Doswell Terrace, Kadina) - Tuesday, 1 December at 5pm
- Moonta Town Hall reopens for public consultation (71 George St, Moonta) - Thursday, 3 December from 11.30am-2pm
- Wallaroo Silo Light Show Opening Show (projecting onto Viterra’s Wallaroo Silos) - sunset on Wednesday, 9 December.
The Kadina Dog Park opening ceremony is a chance for the community to come together on-site to see the facilities.
With agility and exercise equipment, a shelter, grassed area and a water fountain with dog bowl, the park has proved a hit with our canine friends.
The works to repair and maintain the historic 135-year-old Moonta Town Hall have been completed.
The new roof will ensure the safety of the community, while the ceiling and other internal works have ensured the Hall keeps its character.
Attention now turns to a masterplan, where the public will be consulted on ways to better utilise the facilities within the Hall. Surveys will be available at the Hall from 11.30am-2pm on Thursday, 3 December for the public to give their feedback. The survey will also be available on our website, Facebook and within our Kadina Council office from next week, where further information will be provided.
The following week, the opening Wallaroo Silo Light Show will be illuminating the Viterra silos from sunset on Wednesday, December 9.
Projecting on the two silo cells closest to the water, the new location will allow the show to be seen from Liberator Way right across to North Beach.
These projects were funded or partially funded by the Australian Government's Drought Communities Programme – Extension grant funding.
All events will be COVID-safe and will go ahead on the scheduled dates, unless COVID-19 restrictions are imposed.
