Basic Radio Procedure Using 27Mhz & VHF Marine Radio
To Inform Sea Rescue:
- Channel 88 or 16 must be open (no one using the frequency) before starting the transmission
- Be aware of a 3 minute listening period on the hour & half hour
- DO NOT TRANSMIT DURING THIS 3 MINUTE PERIOD
- When launching please log on by calling Sea Rescue Copper Coast on Channel 88 or 16.
- Use your call sign and wait for a reply.
- Use the above procedure in case of an emeregency.
- Don't forget to log off upon your return.
"OVER" means: I have finished my trransmission and need a reply - (ie. your turn to reply)
"E.T.R." means: Estimated time of return
"ROMEO" means: I understand what you said or (YES)
"OUT" means: End of transmission, contact is complete (no further communication expected).
