Mobile / Temporary Vendors Permit (inc Mobile Food Vehicles)

A vibrant and successful mobile and temporary vendor increasing vitality to outdoor locations and contribute to array of quality food, coffee, boutique breweries, and tourism and lifestyle experiences.

Whilst Council is committed to supporting local fixed businesses, mobile and temporary vendors expand the business landscape within our region with regard for retaining an appropriate balance between existing business operators, local residents and community and visitor demand for variety and services.

Before heading out onto the streets, mobile or temporary vendors are required to:

  • apply for a permit;
  • pay the applicable fee;
  • read the Mobile Vending Policy and the Mobile Vendor Guidelines;
  • understand the specific conditions and Location Rules where mobile and temporary vendors can situate themselves as listed in the Policy; and
  • if operating a Mobile and temporary food businesses,  ensure compliance with the Food Act 2001 and Food Regulations 2017 including an inspection when operating in the Copper Coast region.

Mobile and Temporary Vending Permits are issued for either a weekly, monthly or annual basis.

Applications to operate a mobile food vending business are required to be lodged with Council a minimum twenty-one (21) business days prior to the activity, unless otherwise negotiated with Council.

Please note: Mobile Food Vendors operating as part of a Council supported Community Event are exempt from this permit process. The Event Coordinator as Event Management (eg Kernewek Lowender or Rotary Markets) are required to obtain the required permits.
